Tiny Little Peg Wooden

I'm so far behind with blogging.   It seems like this time of the year is so busy.  School is out now and my granddaughter is here a lot, so we try not to spend too much time online.

A few weeks ago, I spotted a "lot" of small dolls on ebay.  No one bid against me, so I got them for such a great price.  There was only one that I was interested in, but my granddaughter liked the others, so it was a win/win.

Of course, the little peg wooden was the one I wanted.  She had a gold cord glued into a hole in the top of her head.  I guess she started life as a Christmas ornament.  First thing I did was pull the cord out, fill it with paper clay and dab a little black paint on it.   One of her arms was twisted around so that it was on backwards.  I was carefully able to turn it back around and now it's right and good as new.
She is jointed and made like old-fashioned peg wooden dolls.  She is not old, but has that look that I love.  She is not jointed at the elbows and knees, but I don't mind.  She is only four inches tall.
Here she is with my Polly Shorrock dolls.  She fits right in.
And here she is with Hitty Jane, Hitty Button and Little Peg.  She fits in here too.
I was unsure what to name her, until a friend mentioned the name Tottie.  I think it fits her perfectly.

Another good thing is....it's easy to make room for a tiny doll.

Today is Memorial Day.  I hope everyone will remember and honor those who fought and died so that we can live in freedom.
Blessings!

A Day in the Life of Violet

Today has been a typical day.  I had computer work to do and lots of phone calls to make.   My computer and desk are in my bedroom, so Violet quietly played on the bed while I worked.  She is such a good girl.

A little later,  I heard her whispering to Dotty and making pans to do something special.  No telling what it might be.  Little girls can come up with some crazy ideas at times.
Maybe she plans to pick up her toys by herself to surprise me?
Oh!  They decided to play beauty parlor!  Why didn't I think of that?  Even little Dotty had a slight make-over.
The next time I glanced over, I noticed Violet was deep in thought.  I wonder what she could be daydreaming about?
After a little while, she climbed up on my desk to keep me company.  She was quite chatty, but I didn't mind.  She helped the day go by faster and made it more enjoyable.

Violet is definitely a Dolly Blessing!
